CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS & TROPHIES

Championship points and trophies will be awarded for all categories with a minimum field of 4 competitors.

RACING FORMAT

Racing at the Aeroflow National Sportsman Championship event at Benaraby Dragway will be under the Elimination format for fields of 5 or more and Chicago Shootout for fields of 4 or less. Competition Bike will be run in the traditional ANDRA format.

LICENSING

You will need an ANDRA license to compete in ANDRA sanctioned events. Racers who need an ANDRA license can apply for a 6-month license at the below link.

The 6-month license is available for racers who do not have an ANDRA license and has been designed and offered by ANDRA to encourage participation in the NDRC.

The cost is as little as $60/$110 for the 6-month license and $89 for a two year log book. The license can be used at multiple NDRC events under ANDRA sanction including Benaraby, the opening round at The Bend, Calder Park, amongst others.

This includes ANDRA Category 1 Personal Accident Insurance Program

For some racers the ANDRA Single Event Licence may suit better. This licence requires ANDRA membership (payable upon first purchase), and then can be renewed for $60. per event (note, limitations do apply). See application below.

MEDICAL

For the Group 3 licence you will need an ANDRA medical certificate to race. However, ANDRA will recognise medical certification from IHRA as long as it’s current at the time of racing. No medical is required for the Super Street Licence.

All you need to do is complete Page 1 of the ANDRA medical declaration at the below link, and supply your IHRA medical certificate or a copy of your IHRA license with the current medical noted.

TECH CHECKS

Free tech checks days will be provided for vehicles that don’t have a current ANDRA technical check certificate. Locations and dates will be advised based on competitor requirements.

SUPER COMP

NDRC events will run Super Stock and Comp Eliminator as one Super Comp class, except in the circumstances where there are 8 or more racers in both fields.

If you run in an IHRA class, and you do not think you can comply with an ANDRA class – or vice versa – and you wish to enter an NDRC event, please do the following:

  • Enter the event as a competitor in the appropriate category
  • Provide your ANDRA and/or IHRA license number
  • Provide your ANDRA racing class and/or your IHRA racing class

If you genuinely cannot fit into an ANDRA class, ANDRA will assess and provide you with an index to run against based on the IHRA National Record.

The NDRC will process these applications for competitors who enter the event. If you’re not satisfied with the index/record or other information you receive from the sanctioning body and no longer wish to participate, you will have your entry fee refunded immediately.

COMPETITION BIKE + PERFORMANCE BIKE

ANDRA are currently reviewing the rule differences between Competition Bike (ANDRA) and Performance Bike (IHRA) as it relates to the use of reactive control.

An update will be provided on this in the next 14 days, but competitors who run an ECU with reactive control will be welcome to race at ANDRA sanctioned events, whether that be as part of Competition Bike or in a new, separate Performance Bike category.

As above, please do the following …

  • Enter the event as a competitor in the appropriate category
  • Provide your ANDRA and/or IHRA license number
  • Provide your ANDRA racing class and/or your IHRA racing class

The sanctioning body will provide an index to run against relevant to your past performance in the other sanctioning body.

Again, the NDRC will do this for competitors who enter the event to race. If you’re not satisfied with the index/record or other information you receive from the sanctioning body and no longer wish to participate, you will have your entry fee refunded immediately.
